Please help my family in Afghanistan (Hazara refugee)

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Ali is a Hazara refugee, and his family in Afghanistan needs our help.

Hazara people face extreme persecution in Afghanistan, and have suffered horrific bombing attacks on schools, maternity hospitals, and cultural and religious sites. Life has become incredibly hard since the Taliban seized power, especially due to the threat of violence, and scarcity of food.

We need your help to raise $4,000 to support Ali’s family with food and medicine through this extremely difficult time.

Funds will be used to pay for Ali’s mother’s healthcare (travel, medical appointments, and hospital care), and to pay for food for his mother, father, brother, sister, and her two young children.

All of the funds we raise, we will send directly to Ali’s family. (Costs of the transfer have already been donated by our friend.)

Ali’s story: Ali is a refugee living in Indonesia, who cannot return home, and who has waited for many years to be resettled through UNHCR. He is far from his home, family, and friends, and your support would mean the world to him. In the future, he hopes he can settle in a new country and work hard to support his family and send money to help other families in Afghanistan.

*Ali’s name has been changed, to protect his family’s identities. Jessie writes: As I am in a position of safety, I am sharing my identity so that I can vouch for his honesty and integrity, and I am accountable for ensuring your donations will reach his family and pay for essential healthcare and food.
